We are going to discuss current the history of the African American culture in the United States. We will explore such topics as the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s, the race in the jury system, the New Jim crow and more.

We will show age-appropriate movies, do book talks and also have performers come to the class from time to time, poets, authors, and storytellers of the African American culture and more. All are welcome to come and learn from these presentations and movies. Sometimes we will have entertainment and other times we will have serious insightful discussions.
