With six separate gathering spaces and a big kitchen, Common Street Spiritual Center is a valuable community resource that we are eager to share with others.

Building use requests to host public and/or personal events are considered on a case-by-case basis. This includes:

  • Public events, workshops, gatherings, concerts, dances, ceremonies and other programs whether fee-based, by donation, or offered freely to the general public
  • Classes, rehearsals, or private sessions
  • Personal events such as weddings, birthday parties, coming-of-age ceremonies, and celebrations of life (available for members only)

All uses of our building must be in alignment with our mission and vision. Beyond that, the policies below serve as guidelines for our decision-making.

For Members

When members offer free events that are open to the community, we allow them to book any of our spaces free of charge. It’s part of how we bring people together.

When members offer events that have a fee or suggested donation, we ask them to donate a portion of the proceeds to the spiritual center. It’s collaborative.

For all events, hosts/leaders are expected to do their own set up and clean up.

One-time and recurring rentals are available to members at the low rates listed below.

To find out more about membership, visit www.commonstreet.org/membership

For the General Public

Personal room rentals are not available to the general public; membership is required.

We often collaborate with groups and orgs to welcome public-facing events into our space that are spiritual, cultural, charitable, educational, justice-oriented, or community-building. We are often open to cosponsoring such events.

Space-permitting, groups and individuals may set up recurring rentals (e.g. weekly, monthly) according to the non-member rates listed below. Beyond an initial orientation to the building, such agreements should not require any ongoing staff or volunteer support.

Room Rental Rates

The hourly rates below apply to set-up and clean-up time, as well as event time. Note that they are for building use only. Additional support fees ($30-50/hour) may apply if a staff member or volunteer is required on site to help with set-up, clean-up, A/V support, or security.
