The members and friends of Common Street Spiritual Center maintain a “common purse” as a way to support members and friends of the community who are in need.
When a member or friend of the community has a need, such as an un-reimbursed/non-covered medical expense, car repair, or utility payment that they need support with, we invite them to make a request to the Common Purse Team. We do not have the capacity to provide ongoing or recurring support, but can provide occasional and non-recurring financial support within the limits of the common purse’s capacity.

Make a Request from the Common Purse
To make a request, please email commonpurse@commonstreet.org, including a description of the reason for the request and the specific amount or range of financial support being requested.
The current members of the Common Purse Team are Rich Sidney, Megan Walden, Wei Li, and Ian Mevorach. All requests are held in strict confidence. The amounts of gifts that go out from the common purse are reported to our finance committee and council for transparency, but the names of persons receiving these gifts are kept in confidence with the Common Purse Team.
