November 2 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

The Boston Vegetarian Society is thrilled to present a pioneer and luminary in the vegan movement:

Michael Klaper, MD

“Food as Medicine: Transforming Health with Plant-Based Nutrition”

Dr Klaper is a distinguished and internationally-recognized teacher and speaker on diet and health with over 50 years of clinical experience in helping patients regain their health through improved diet and lifestyle. He is a passionate and devoted educator of physicians and other healthcare professionals about the importance of nutrition in clinical practice and integrative medicine. His presentations explore the mechanisms by which plant-predominant diets can help reverse common Western diseases,

He is the author of Vegan Nutrition; Pure & Simple and has produced numerous videos, webinars and dozens of articles for scientific journals and the popular press. As a source of inspiration advocating plant-based diets and the end of animal cruelty worldwide, Dr Klaper contributed to the making of two PBS television programs, Food for Thought and the award-winning movie, Diet for a New America. He is dedicated to the healing and flourishing of all living beings and our planet.

Dr. Klaper’s focus now is on the non-profit, Moving Medicine Forward, an educational initiative dedicated to promoting nutritional awareness among medical students and practicing clinicians, emphasizing the role of plant-based nutrition and positive lifestyle practices in arresting, and often reversing, chronic disease.
