Common Threads is a local, grassroots initiative to repair relationships that have been broken by political division. We aim to humanize each other and find common ground, build a sense of trust, increase mutual care and understanding, and foster cooperation and healthy dialogue. In these ways we seek to heal the political divide and weave the threads of our common humanity into the community.
Our Common Threads Steering Committee members are Anne Continelli, Anne Lafleur, Nate Lord, Ian Mevorach, Scott Pressler, and Patti Sciarra.
In the Spring of 2021 we launched a Living Room Conversations pilot program to begin building relationships around this hope we share, to live in peace, understanding, acceptance and celebration of our differences, and mutual recognition of our common humanity.
In Fall 2022, our latest initiative is called “Conversation and Action”. We facilitated four Living Room Conversation cohorts who each participated in three sessions together. We are bringing these folks together to take further action together.
