The Rainbow Peace Flag Project is now the PEACE Flag Movement!
Your donation to the Peace Flag Movement helps the Movement to sponsor and deliver flags to more communities, produce and share educational materials, encourage and facilitate dialogues, lend a hand (with flags and funds) to organizations that are working to make necessary systemic change, and inspire more people to open their hearts & minds.
Make your donation here, then come pick up our gift of appreciation to you, a PEACE Flag. You can pick up your Flag in our front lobby at Common Street Spiritual Center, 13 Common Street, Natick, MA.
Common Street’s role in supporting the project
Natick’s Maggie Sky began the movement as Rainbow Peace Flag Project in June 2016. Shortly
thereafter, Maggie invited Ian Mevorach to became one of her collaborators, and the Common Street
Spiritual Center also became the fiscal sponsor and physical home base. Through the years Ian and the
Common Street community have supported the project’s growth, and we are excited to see what
comes next.
Peace Flag Movement becoming its own non-profit
The Peace Flag Movement has registered to become its own 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Until they
attain this nonprofit status, Common Street will continue its role as fiscal sponsor.
Continued partnership in the movement
Common Street plans to continue its support and participation in the Peace Flag Movement indefinitely.
We love the message, the intention behind it, and the dynamic way this movement is continuing to grow
in awareness, purpose, and societal impact. We plan to continue being an anchor location to pick up
flags in the Boston Metrowest area and to support the movement in any other way we can.
History of The Flag
The peace flag has evolved in the name of racial justice, with new skin tones and black lettering. All colors now stand side by side, a symbol of solidarity and equality—for all.
