Easter for All, Open Circle Gathering (In Person)

April 9, 2023 @ 10:30 am - 11:45 am

This Sunday we will celebrate the hopeful story of Easter in the uniquely inclusive way that we do as a multi-faith community. We invite people of all different faiths and backgrounds to join us as we tell this story of Jesus’ death and resurrection, sing, pray, and find inspiration in the uprising power of life.
Rev. Dr. Ian Mevorach, director of the Spiritual Center, will give a talk reflecting on the core meaning of Jesus’ message in a time of rising anti-semitism in our region. Easter has often been interpreted in ways that incite anti-semitism–for example, with biblically inaccurate accusations that “the Jews killed Jesus,” when really the Roman Empire was responsible. But what if we root our understanding of Jesus in an affirmation of his Jewish identity?
The Open Circle is a community building event which includes centering meditation, a talk or practice, time for personal reflection, song, and prayer.
The Spiritual Center’s mission is to cultivate a love-centered community that works together to bring peace, justice, and healing to our society and planet.
All are welcome. Our Open Circle meets every week at 10:30am and is free and open to the public.
We meet in person on 1st, 2nd, and 4th Sundays, and virtually on 3rd Sundays. 1st Sundays includes brunch and is less formal.
If you’re new to Open Circle, you’re welcome but not required to register here: https://forms.gle/WeyndDgfFS1NeNZ97
