Cacao and Gospel Ceremony

Come experience the inspiring story of Jesus in a fresh and inclusive way—no dogma, no pressure, just a space to connect deeply with the powerful message of love at the heart of Jesus’ teachings.
At the center of this gathering is a dramatic reading of the Gospel of John (just about 2 hours), facilitated by Rev. Dr. Ian Mevorach, director of the Common Street Spiritual Center. Ian has been a student of Jesus and other spiritual teachers for over 20 years and brings a soulful, openhearted approach to this sacred story.
The ceremony will also include simple practices that help us feel and embody the story—like meditation, prayer, drinking cacao, song, and reflective moments for group sharing.
This gathering is open to everyone—whatever your background, beliefs, or level of familiarity with the Gospel. You don’t need to be Christian or even religious to feel at home here. The message of love at the core of Jesus’ life transcends any one tradition, and this event is about experiencing that message together, in a spirit of openness and curiosity.
