DESCRIPTION:Music-lovers of all ages are invited to the 9th annual SINGtogether\, a free\, interactive\, intergenerational\, inspirational concert on Sunday\, June 8 at 4:00 p.m. at the Common Street Spiritual Center\, 13 Common Street\, Natick\, featuring Golden Tones chorus and Natick High School’s Concert Choir. This year’s concert theme is “American Eras Tour\,” featuring popular songs from different moments and voices in our country.\n\n\n\nIn this public collaboration between teen musicians\, and singers old enough to be their grandparents\, the two choirs again invite the public to experience the joyful sound that results when two generations of singers blend their voices together. To enhance the love of music and foster compassion between generations\, the singers of both groups have exchanged emails\, experienced a visit from the other choir’s conductor\, conversed in person\, and rehearsed together.\n\nThis concert is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council\, the Lauren Dunne Astley Memorial Fund\, and Natick Public Schools.

A poem to read?Well\, we have a stage for you!\n\nCome join us for the latest installment of the Natick Open Mic. We welcome all local talent as solo artists or groups of four members or less. If we have a full roster (generally about 16 acts) then each act gets 8 minutes of stage time to share any kind of performance art that is tastefully entertaining or engaging.\n\nThe hotlines are open to contact Bruno Giles to get your name on the roster. The order of performances is determined randomly on the night of the show\, though we guarantee that you won’t have to go on first because either Dave C or Bruno G will do that for you.\n\nWe provide the stage\, the lighting\, the sound gear\, and even a reasonably well tuned piano. You supply all the other reasonably tuned instruments and voices and the talent to back them up. We don’t expect perfection\, but we do like enthusiasm.\n\nDoors open at 6:00 pm.Show starts at 6:30 pm.\n\nIn order to keep this event afloat\, we ask that everyone\, including the performers\, make a minimum donation of $5 per person. SUMMARY:Ecstatic Dance Featuring the Drum Nomads
DESCRIPTION:Most ecstatic dance events happen to recorded music played by a DJ\, which can be great. But think of how cool it can be when the music is being created live in the moment such that there is a symbiotic connection between the musicians and the dancers. The musicians raise the energy and the dancers respond in kind\, inspiring the musicians to raise the energy even more! The effect can be truly electric!\n\nThe Drum Nomads know their way around a rhythm or two\, but more than just being drummers\, each member plays a variety melodic instruments as well\, creating a wealth of sound that makes the music even more exciting.\n\nWe start off slow with gentle movement and easy going vibes. But things build up gradually in intensity\, rising\, falling\, and rising again even higher. When we hit the blissful peak\, the Drum Nomads will bring things back down for a soft landing\, which then morphs into a restorative sound bath to round out the night.\n\nThis is a “conscious event”\, which means people are expected to participate without the use of drugs or alcohol.\n\nOur goal is to create a safe space for people to express themselves openly through freestyle dance and movement.\n\nThe event is geared towards adults\, but younger people may attend if they are able to maintain their focus for the full 2 hours.\n\nCost is $20 at the door. No need to pre-register.\nDoors open at 6:30pm. This will be the ecstatic dance portion of the event.\n-Then\, cool down and ground with a soothing sound bath meditation.\n-Stick around\, have snacks\, and socialize for a bit after the sound bath if you wish! \nThere is a suggested donation of $25-35 for this event\, but if funds are a barrier to entry for you\, don’t let that stop you from enjoying this releasing\, healing\, and uplifting community event… just donate whatever you can. DESCRIPTION:‘Divine Design – Ecstatic Dance & Sound Bath’ will be held on Friday\, March 7th at the Common Street Spiritual Center in Natick\, MA!\nHere are the details…\n-Doors open at 6:30 for stretching\, snacking\, and socializing while music in the background sets the mood.-There will be an intention-setting meditation a little after 7:00pm.-We will then transition into dancing to delicious exotic jams\, with both DJ set/performance and live (often improv) accompaniment on a variety of instruments. This will be the ecstatic dance portion of the event.-Then\, cool down and ground with a soothing sound bath meditation.-Stick around\, have snacks\, and socialize for a bit after the sound bath if you wish!\nThere is a suggested donation of $25-35 for this event\, but if funds are a barrier to entry for you\, don’t let that stop you from enjoying this releasing\, healing\, and uplifting community event… just donate whatever you can. Every contribution will help us to keep putting on these events\, as we would like for this event to keep happening on a regular basis!\nTo create a conscious container for all the ways folks might wish to explore and experience this event with movement\, consent\, and inner emotional processing\, this is an adults only event. Nothing R rated will occur\, just not the right container for kids.\nBring anything you might want… hoops/poi/etc. for flow arts\, a yoga mat/blanket/pillow for the sound bath\, water for hydration. DESCRIPTION:Please join us for an interfaith Iftar gathering\, with leaders of the Natick interfaith clergy group in collaboration with leaders of the ASK Muslim Sunday School community\, a Shiite community that meets at the Common Street Spiritual Center in Natick. \nParticipants will have an opportunity to learn about and experience Ramadan and engage in interfaith dialogue with Jews\, Christians\, Muslims and people of other faiths and spiritual paths. All are welcome. We will seek to find common ground and celebrate each other’s faith. \nThe event will include a traditional Iftar meal\, and participants are welcome to bring a dish to contribute for a potluck supper. Please note that any dishes with meat should be Halal\, or else please bring a vegetarian item to contribute; drink and snack items are also welcome. Or\, simply come as you are without bringing anything; that is OK too. \nThere is no registration required but RSVP’s are welcome by email at info@commonstreet.org.
