DESCRIPTION:At a time when thousands of people in Gaza are facing malnutrition and starvation\, we are inviting people to set aside a day to fast in solidarity. Fasting raises our awareness of what the Palestinian people are experiencing\, and increases our compassion.\n\nOn Monday\, August 11th\, please consider fasting during the day and praying for the speedy delivery of food\, medicine\, and other necessities for the people in Gaza.\n\nAt 6pm\, we’ll gather in the sanctuary of the Spiritual Center to reflect on our experiences of fasting and pray together for all who are suffering from hunger in Gaza and around the world.*\n\nThrough our fasting and our time together\, we will build our collective hope and resolve to build a world in which the sacredness and humanity of each person is recognized and respected\, and in which violent warfare is no longer accepted as a way to resolve international disputes.\n\nAs a way to support those experiencing hunger\, given that delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza is currently blocked\, you are invited to donate to a local food bank such as the Natick Service Council or to bring nonperishable food and hygiene products for our Common Good Mini Pantry at the Spiritual Center.\n\n*We are also mindful\, for example\, that millions of people in Sudan\, South Sudan\, and Haiti are also facing emergency levels of food insecurity due to destabilizing conflicts and displacement.

As we seek to grow personally\, come into greater alignment with Spirit\, and find peace within\, we also share a collective commitment to being part of the great work that people of faith and conscience everywhere are part of: to transform our world towards compassion\, equality\, justice\, and a unity rooted in a sacred awareness that all life comes from the same mysterious\, divine source. \nSo in these unprecedented times of division\, hatred\, violence\, and chaos in our nation and our world\, we want to bring our community together to be a sanctuary for each other\, especially for those who are most vulnerable to threats such as detention and deportation. We want to reaffirm our sacred mission and activate each other into a spirit of hopeful commitment. We want to find our moral and spiritual voice as a community. \nTowards this end\, after a community gathering in April called “Community Amidst Chaos\,” a group of motivated CSSC members formed a team and drafted the attached statement. In collaboration with the Council of CSSC\, we are sharing this statement with all the members of the community. We are also inviting you to a community meeting on Monday\, June 16th at 7:30pm via zoom to hear your thoughts and feedback on this statement. Please plan on arriving by 6:15pm so you have time to settle in and meet the other members.\n\nHow much? – The cost is $45 which is makes this a very affordable experience for anyone. This includes the cost of the cacao and the homemade vegan soup that’s provided at the end to help ground you.\n\nHow can I best prepare? – We will send you some instructions ahead of time. DESCRIPTION:Music-lovers of all ages are invited to the 9th annual SINGtogether\, a free\, interactive\, intergenerational\, inspirational concert on Sunday\, June 8 at 4:00 p.m. at the Common Street Spiritual Center\, 13 Common Street\, Natick\, featuring Golden Tones chorus and Natick High School’s Concert Choir. This year’s concert theme is “American Eras Tour\,” featuring popular songs from different moments and voices in our country.\n\n\n\nIn this public collaboration between teen musicians\, and singers old enough to be their grandparents\, the two choirs again invite the public to experience the joyful sound that results when two generations of singers blend their voices together. To enhance the love of music and foster compassion between generations\, the singers of both groups have exchanged emails\, experienced a visit from the other choir’s conductor\, conversed in person\, and rehearsed together.\n\nThis concert is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council\, the Lauren Dunne Astley Memorial Fund\, and Natick Public Schools.
