SUMMARY:DUB YOGA x Reggae Dance Party
DESCRIPTION:On Monday\, June 30th\, Strictly Yard Music presents a unique night of Yoga\, Reggae\, and Community!  At 7 pm\, Dr. Jen Kurz will teach a special DUB YOGA class in step with the sounds of Reggae and Dub music courtesy of DJ Jah Rich.  This vinyasa flow will have a “taste of the Carribean” as DJ Jah Rich spins the Jamaican music to the beat of the class!  All the action goes down at the popular Common Street Spiritual Center\, a homebase for spiritual entrepreneurship in the MetroWest (MA).  Admission is $15 or a donation to the Food Pantry at the center. \nAt 8 pm\, the lights turn down and the music turns up!  DJ Jah Rich will spin the best in Reggae from Studio 1 treasures to Rub-a-Dub bangers\, all the way to Dancehall hits and the latest from the ever expanding world of Reggae music.  There will be LIVE performances by Ian Mevorach and Nyjah DiOrganizah\, who recently released an EP titled\, Who Is Nyjah?  Vegetarian food will be available on site\, and there will be a toast at 9 pm to celebrate the birthdays of Jen and Nyjah.  This Reggae Dance Party is free and family friendly.  There is plenty of parking and a comfortable atmosphere.  This unique event is a one-two punch that shouldn’t be missed! \n#dubyoga  #dubyoganatick  #natickyoga  #metrowestyoga  #selectorjahrich  #jahrich  #nyjahdiorganizah  #ianmevorach  #commonstreetnatick  #natick  #metrowestma  #dub \nWhat is Dub music?   \nDub is one of the many sub genres of Reggae.  Dub is instrumental Reggae that is artistically enhanced and layered with effects like echo and reverb as well as production techniques like splicing in snippets of vocals or sporadically dropping out all the instruments except for the powerful\, stripped down drum and bass.  Dub gives the recording engineer the opportunity to become the musician as their multi-track mixing console acts as the instrument.  An engineer making Dub is like a chef creating a unique meal not often seen on most menus!  Jamaican producer and engineer King Tubby is credited as the creator of Dub\, as he first experimented with ways to manipulate and “dub out” his instrumental tracks in the early 1970s.  Today\, his innovation and influence is widely seen in genres like techno\, drum and bass\, and dubstep.  Dub stands as another example of the rich contributions of Jamaican music.  Jah Rich 7/19/2023 \nFlyer Design by @DawnDawta
