DESCRIPTION:The third ‘Divine Design – Ecstatic Dance & Sound Bath’ will be held on Friday\, February 16th at the Common Street Spiritual Center in Natick\, MA! Here are the details… \n-Doors open at 6:30 for stretching\, snacking\, and socializing while music in the background sets the mood.\n-There will be an intention-setting meditation at 7:00 with a theme regarding self\, love\, relationships\, matters of the heart… you know\, all things Valentine’s Day.\n-We will then transition into dancing to delicious exotic jams\, with both DJ set/performance and live (often improv) accompaniment on a variety of instruments. This will be the ecstatic dance portion of the event.\n-Then\, cool down and ground with a sound bath featuring singing bowls\, shamanic drumming\, and more to close out the event.\n-Stick around\, have snacks\, and socialize for a bit after the sound bath if you wish! \nThere is a suggested donation of $25-35 for this event\, but if funds are a barrier to entry for you\, don’t let that stop you from enjoying this releasing\, healing\, and uplifting community event… just donate whatever you can. Every contribution will help us to keep putting on these events\, as we would like for this event to keep happening on a regular basis! \nBring anything you might want… hoops/poi/etc. for flow arts\, a yoga mat/blanket/pillow for the sound bath\, water for hydration. DESCRIPTION:The Electric Nomads return to the Common Street Spiritual Center for another ecstatic dance + sound bath gathering. \nJoin us for an evening of freeform movement and dance to the live grooves of the Electric Nomads as they take you on an musical journey that begins slowly and gradually builds up and up until everyone is soaring\, then gently returning you to Mother Earth to rest on the waves of a lush sound bath meditation. \nThe Electric Nomads are musical alchemists\, fusing acoustic and electronic elements to form a funky melange of world instruments and chanted vocalizations woven around a core of monster bass grooves and driving beats. But the Nomads also know the ways of sublime sound that can be flowing\, soothing and delicate. \nDoors open at 6:30pm and the opening ceremony starts at 7:00pm. Please arrive before 7:00 so you can settle in before things get rolling. Do you like ecstatic dance\, flow arts\, yoga\, and having the space to improvise movements freestyle along with improvised groovy music? Then come to the Common Street Spiritual Center in Natick\, MA on the evening of August 18th! There will be an opening ceremony promptly at 8:00 p.m.\, so please arrive before that to settle in and be present to the arc of the experience. Music and dancing will continue until 10:00 p.m. \nThe music will consist of completely live improvisation that traverses a lot of terrain: from meditative and flowy to groovy\, funky\, and intense. The Electric Nomads blend drumming with bass guitar\, synthesizer\, electronic and acoustic elements\, and world instruments to create a sonic fusion in a variety of styles. DESCRIPTION:Held in a community circle format\, this event is free of charge (donations accepted) and will provide space for folks to gather face-to-face. It will be a place where people can connect in a vibe of safety\, spiritual communion\, openness\, honesty\, and non-judgement to share whatever they wish. My hope is for this to be something of a compassionate and open-hearted ‘show and tell’ for adults\, a place where the inner child can have space to play freely\, experience emotional release\, and heal through the joy of supportive human connection! \nIf you want to share feelings: fears\, joys\, and get into deep places that are often difficult in surface-level conversations\, you are welcome. If you choose to share stories\, poems\, songs\, life experiences\, you are welcome. Want to share creative emotional expression\, dance\, photo albums\, or something else that is important to you? YOU ARE WELCOME!\n—————\n-At the open and close of each meeting I will facilitate a short sound healing and guided meditation. Also\, if a few people bring instruments\, we could do a peaceful jam session at the end of the event… I’m always up for those!\n-While I don’t wish to make any topics explicitly off limits\, we will practice compassionate and respectful communication. There will be a ‘talking stick’ of some sort\, so the only ground rules will be: don’t interrupt while someone is sharing\, don’t respond directly to a share without asking permission first\, and please do not use derogatory/demeaning language or point aggressive communication/anger at anyone.\n-There is no commitment required. Come to one circle or come on a regular basis. This is not a closed or ‘regular members only’ event. \n-I will bring a limited amount of snacks.
