DESCRIPTION:Why go to the movie theater when you can gathering with friends and spiritual family to watch a movie on the big screen at the Common Street Spiritual Center? ??? \nWe will gather at 6:00pm to socialize and settle in. Movie will start at 6:30. If you’d like\, bring snacks\, non-alcoholic beverages\, and other goodies for a pot luck style snack bar… but most importantly\, bring your selves! There will be cushions\, mats\, and blankets available for borrowing\, but feel free to bring cozy chairs\, pillows\, yoga mats… anything you want to bring to settle in and relax much more luxuriously than you could in a theater (even though modern movie theater seats are getting pretty dang good)! \nThere will be a poll in the discussion in the Facebook Event Page (link included in this post) with a few movie options to choose from. Whatever gets the most votes\, that’s what we’ll see! Let the people decide! All options will be PG-13 or lower rating. No R movies for this one… kids welcomed. Perhaps in the future we will have a separate movie nights for kid-friendly and non-kid-friendly\, but for this first one of 2025\, all ages are welcomed. Of course\, use your own discretion to decide if the movie that is selected is right for you and/or any kids you wish to bring. \nThis is a free event and open to the whole community. Here are the details… \n-Doors open at 6:30 for stretching\, snacking\, and socializing while music in the background sets the mood.\n-There will be an intention-setting meditation at 7:00 with a theme regarding the last days of summer\, the transition towards autumn and all of the changes that come with it… the leaves turn brilliant hues\, the days get shorter\, the nights colder\, but winter is still off on the horizon and plenty of harvests bear fruit.\n-We will then transition into dancing to delicious exotic jams\, with both DJ set/performance and live (often improv) accompaniment on a variety of instruments. This will be the ecstatic dance portion of the event.\n-Then\, cool down and ground with a soothing sound bath (details to be announced) that will tie into the ‘transition to autumn’ theme to close out the event.\n-Stick around\, have snacks\, and socialize for a bit after the sound bath if you wish! \nThere is a suggested donation of $25-35 for this event\, but if funds are a barrier to entry for you\, don’t let that stop you from enjoying this releasing\, healing\, and uplifting community event… just donate whatever you can. DESCRIPTION:Earth is our mother. We must take care of her. ?? \nJoin Jason A. Karol (with some special guest appearances) on a musical journey around Mama Gaia. Relax and let the sounds and sights carry you away on an inner vision quest\, shared with community. \nWe will open the experience with an intention setting circle\, going around and sharing our appreciation for the planet we live on\, and our hopes for how we can continue to respectfully coexist with Earth from a place of reverence and gratitude as we enter an unprecedented age of technology and human expansion. There is so much already in the animals\, plants\, rocks\, seas\, and air for us to be present to and revel in each day. Earth provides\, and I wish to help foster love and kindness for her in return. ?? \nAfter the open circle\, settle in for a trip around the globe! On the projector screen\, there will be videos of different locations on the planet. To go with each location\, there will be live music and sound healing. This will range from guitar based folk music to Native American style flute\, shamanic drumming with chanting/singing\, and much more. Along with the music that comes through me\, the sounds of nature will wash over you too! There will be the sounds of Earth’s music… birds chirping\, waves rushing\, leaves rustling. But the Nomads also know the ways of sublime sound that can be flowing\, soothing and delicate. \nDoors open at 6:30pm and the opening ceremony starts at 7:00pm. Please arrive before 7:00 so you can settle in before things get rolling. DESCRIPTION:Do you want to turn off your mind\, turn up your connection to your body for a bit at the end of a week\, and sink into whatever movements feel good to you? Do you like ecstatic dance\, flow arts\, yoga\, and having the space to improvise movements freestyle along with improvised groovy music? Then come to the Common Street Spiritual Center in Natick\, MA on the evening of August 18th! There will be an opening ceremony promptly at 8:00 p.m.\, so please arrive before that to settle in and be present to the arc of the experience. Music and dancing will continue until 10:00 p.m. \nThe music will consist of completely live improvisation that traverses a lot of terrain: from meditative and flowy to groovy\, funky\, and intense. The Electric Nomads blend drumming with bass guitar\, synthesizer\, electronic and acoustic elements\, and world instruments to create a sonic fusion in a variety of styles. DESCRIPTION:Held in a community circle format\, this event is free of charge (donations accepted) and will provide space for folks to gather face-to-face. It will be a place where people can connect in a vibe of safety\, spiritual communion\, openness\, honesty\, and non-judgement to share whatever they wish. My hope is for this to be something of a compassionate and open-hearted ‘show and tell’ for adults\, a place where the inner child can have space to play freely\, experience emotional release\, and heal through the joy of supportive human connection! \nIf you want to share feelings: fears\, joys\, and get into deep places that are often difficult in surface-level conversations\, you are welcome. If you choose to share stories\, poems\, songs\, life experiences\, you are welcome. Want to share creative emotional expression\, dance\, photo albums\, or something else that is important to you? YOU ARE WELCOME!\n—————\n-At the open and close of each meeting I will facilitate a short sound healing and guided meditation. Also\, if a few people bring instruments\, we could do a peaceful jam session at the end of the event… I’m always up for those!\n-While I don’t wish to make any topics explicitly off limits\, we will practice compassionate and respectful communication. There will be a ‘talking stick’ of some sort\, so the only ground rules will be: don’t interrupt while someone is sharing\, don’t respond directly to a share without asking permission first\, and please do not use derogatory/demeaning language or point aggressive communication/anger at anyone.\n-There is no commitment required. Come to one circle or come on a regular basis. This is not a closed or ‘regular members only’ event. \n-I will bring a limited amount of snacks. Anyone who wants to bring food and/or non-alcoholic beverages to share\, you welcome to do so.\n-This group will meet in the Meditation Room on the 3rd floor.\n—————\nI hope to build a supportive and connected community around this gathering\, which will be held on a bi-weekly basis (regular recurring time open to group discussion and potentially subject to change).
