This fall, we’re planning to resume in-person gatherings at the Spiritual Center.  In the past year, we have come to appreciate virtual gatherings, and plan to continue with those as well.  What we’re proposing, beginning in September, is a creative hybrid plan.

Please join us for one of three upcoming listening sessions, hosted by our Sunday Circle Team, where we’ll share our draft plan, below, and listen to the responses of members and friends of the community: Tuesday, May 11th at 7:00pm, Friday May 14th, at 5:30pm, and Sunday May 23rd, at 12:00pm. (Links may be found at www.commonstreet.org/calendar.)

If you cannot make any of the listening sessions, please share your feedback with us by email. Please send a note to Amanda Severin, Sunday Circle Team Leader, at amanda.severin@gmail.com or Rev. Dr. Ian Mevorach, Center Director, at ian@commonstreet.org, who will share your feedback with the Sunday Circle Team. Or feel free to contact any member of the Sunday Circle Team, that is, Laura Hake, Liz Spark, Rich Sidney, Sam Gloyd, Devik Wyman, and Enobong Etteh. Members of our Sunday Circle Team are also happy to talk with you on the phone or zoom.

General Monthly schedule draft for Sept-January

1st Sunday: Breakfast or Brunch for Inspiration, in-person (w/ integrated children’s activities like craft, helping to cook, etc.) This is a meaning-making time with program, music and ritual in addition to community-building and social time.

[Note: we are brainstorming names for this… Deeper Hunger Brunch, Spiritual Sustenance Breakfast, Eat, Pray, Learn, Brunch with a Purpose, Common Table, Brunch Meets Spirit]

2nd Sunday Circle virtual (in-person children-inclusive activity in afternoon: hike, bbq, gardening, service project, etc.)

3rd Sunday Circle in person @ CSSC (w/ children’s circle program)

4th Sunday Circle virtual (in person grounding in community in afternoon, inclusive of children)

5th Sunday (as applicable) Circle in person @ CSSC (w/ children’s circle program)-Perhaps special focus on music or guest musician?

*We would keep this plan each month, but with possible tweaks or adaptations for holidays, etc.

During the month of January the Sunday Circle Team and the community would reflect on these several months of experimentation, consider how things are working for the community as a whole, and then recommend to the council whether to adjust or continue the pattern going forward into 2022.
