SUMMARY:Kundalini: Tradition\, Myth\, and Personal Transformation
DESCRIPTION:Join Monty for a grounded yet illuminating exploration of Kundalini—its roots in ancient tradition\, its evolving role in modern spirituality\, and how it can enrich your personal journey of healing\, growth\, and transformation. \nYou’ve likely heard terms like “Kundalini energy\,” “Kundalini awakening\,” or “Kundalini yoga” in spiritual communities and online spaces. Yet despite their popularity\, these concepts are often misunderstood—or presented in ways that feel vague or even contradictory. If you’ve ever felt confused or curious\, you’re not alone. \nSo what is Kundalini\, really? Why does it matter—if at all—on your path? And how might a deeper understanding of this energy support your everyday life? \nThis class is designed for anyone seeking a clearer\, more holistic understanding of Kundalini from both a philosophical and personal perspective. Whether you’re completely new to the concept or looking to deepen your knowledge\, you’re welcome here. \n— \nWhat to bring:\n– Comfortable clothing\n– A pen and notebook (if you’re the note-taking type)\n– Optional: Your favorite snacks (some will be provided)\n– Water (we’ll have extra too!) \n— \nAbout the Teacher \nMonty is a certified Kundalini yoga instructor currently living in a remote village in Thailand. She received her training in the Himalayan tradition while residing at an Ashram along the Ganges River in India. Drawing from personal experience\, traditional philosophy\, and years of practice\, Monty brings a grounded\, heart-centered approach to her teaching—making deep spiritual wisdom feel accessible\, relevant\, and real. \n___ \nJune 28\, 2025\nArrival time: 2:45\nPromptly begins at 3:00\nIn the Moon room

SUMMARY:Bwiti Fire Talk: An Introduction to African Spirituality
DESCRIPTION:The Bwiti tradition is a spiritual practice that originated in southern Gabon but has now spread in different branches throughout Gabon\, Cameroon\, Congo\, and beyond. Bwiti is not a religion\, but a traditional spiritual path known to initiates as the “art of knowing” and the “study of life itself.” \nThe fire talk is an essential element of Bwiti healing practices. Every ceremony begins with a fire talk where Bwiti teachings are shared. In order to promote wisdom and groundedness in the village\, elders and medicine carriers (Ngangas and Maboundis) provide counseling rooted in the Bwiti teachings before the community partakes in ingesting medicine. \nThis fire talk session will be co-facilitated by Pamela “Ngondet Na Di Puma” Rosario Pérez and\nWill “Etsika Mbudi” Dickerson II. Ngondet and Etsika are traditional medicine and culture carriers of the Missoko Bwiti lineage\, initiated by the 10th-generation nima Papa Moughenda Mikala.
