Allow yourself to be still and listen. \nBio \nMike Tamburo is a world-renowned musician\, composer\, artist and educator. He is known and loved for his transformational live concerts performed on his personally curated set of gongs\, bells and other metal instruments. \nA lifelong multi-instrumentalist\, Tamburo has focused his talents on metal percussion instruments\, string instruments (hammered dulcimer\, guitar\, zither\, shahi baaja)\, as well as electronic instruments (synths\, looping). \nSince 1994\, Tamburo has shared more than 2\,000 concerts and workshops. He has recorded over 70 albums\, both solo and in collaboration with Crown of Eternity\, Meisha\, Arco Flute Foundation\, Psychic Frost\, Brother Ong and more\, ranging from epic gong music to ecstatic and transcendental string music\, as well as folk\, drone\, space rock\, ambient\, mantra music and sometimes unclassifiable sounds. This man loves music in all its forms! \nHe teaches gong music\, both in person and online with School of Gong. He is also a part of the far-reaching ethnomusicology trio\, Dig Deeper\, with Mitch Nur and Thomas Orr Anderson. Their online classes have explored countless musical concepts with a focus on the cultural and personal uses of sound for healing\, meditation\, trance\, ecstatic states\, relaxation\, self transformation\, perception\, psycho-acoustics\, scientific discovery\, time and community. \nAn early adoptee of meditation\, Tamburo’s music offers space for journeying\, self-exploration and deep introspection. During many of his early performances\, he experienced altered states of consciousness and out of body experiences. SUMMARY:Rubaba Ecstatic Kirtan - Chanting & Healing
DESCRIPTION:The practice of Kirtan has been found to provide a number of mental health benefits\, including improved mood\, decreased anxiety\, stress\, and cortisol levels\, as well as decrease insomnia. Hemant combines Bhakti and Gyana yoga paths. During this session he will take us through chants based on seven different ragas\, each aligned with a chakra\, the energy centers. Each mantra is examined for pronunciation and meaning prior to engaging in chanting (Ohm\, Ram\, Hare Krishna and more). Finally all participants will be invited to express themselves through dance and end the shared experience with the Loka samasta sukhino bhavantu!\n\nRubaba is a multi-instrumentalist\, classically trained Musician and a vocalist and has played around the globe in a number of festivals. His unique style is very simple yet uplifting to follow. His mantras are in English\, vidhi\, Sanskrit and Urdu. He has been fusing his love for music and his devotion to finding the deeper spiritual meaning in life for more than 30 years\n\nSuggested donations:\n$30 (members $20)

We want to play music with YOU! \nIf you have a basic musical ability (play an instrument\, know your chords)\, We welcome you to bring your instrument; guitar\, bass\, drums\, keyboard\, ukelele\, voice\, and more – for a night of playing songs together. We’ll finish out the night with a jam. \nPoint of the event is to have fun and make music together. There is little expectation beyond that. \nFormat of the event:  we’ll play relatively easy songs which are 3-5 chords. We’ll have a list to choose from for this event\, and we’ll cast them on a screen / or have on poster-boards\, so everyone can see the chords and lyrics. We’ll draw numbers from a hat @ 7pm and that will be the order of those wanting to lead a song. If you just want to play\, then just play! \nGenres include but not limited to Rock\, Pop\, Folk\, Blues. Typically\, we’ll be mostly in 4/4 time to keep things simple. I’ll start off the 1st song to get us warmed up\, then we’ll take turns leading a song (optional if you desire to). \nNote: we’ll play mostly “clean” in terms of sound\, but some basic pedals / effects are permitted such as Wah\, Compressor\, Reverb\, Delay\, etc. Ear plugs will be available. \nAlso Note:  respectfulness of everyone’s ability level is expected\, kindness is appreciated. Dub is one of the many sub genres of Reggae music. Dub is instrumental Reggae that is artistically enhanced and layered with effects like echo and reverb as well as production techniques like splicing in snipits of vocals or sporadically dropping out all the instruments except for the powerful\, stripped down drum and bass.\n\n\n\nDub gives the recording engineer the opportunity to become the musician as their multi-track mixing console acts as the instrument. An engineer making Dub is like a chef creating a unique meal not often seen on most menus!\n\n\n\nJamaican producer and engineer King Tubby is commonly known as the creator of Dub\, as he first experimented with ways to manipulate and “dub out” his instrumental tracks in the early 1970s. Today\, his innovation and influence is widely seen in genres like techno\, drum and bass\, and electronic music overall. SUMMARY:The Natick Dance Showcase
DESCRIPTION:The Natick Dance Showcase features solo and troupe performers from the local dance community of eastern Mass\, southern NH and Rhode Island.  You’ll get to enjoy a wide variety of dance styles with influences from around the world\, accompanied by exotic music and dazzling costumes.  We’re also hoping to line up some live music to be part of the show.  Doors open at 6:00pm and the show starts at 6:30pm.  Cost is $10 at the door for audience members (kids 12 and under are free).

Witness scenes from the dramatic epic Ramayana\, complete with scenes of battles\, trickery\, and the natural world\, performed by masters of Tholpavakoothu\, a traditional form of shadow puppetry from Kerala\, India.\n\nSign up for this FREE event here. https://www.eventbrite.com/…/tholpavakoothu-shadow…\n\nHandmade puppets will be for sale in the lobby for the duration of the event!\n4:00 – 4:30 pm – Registration\n4:30 – 5:00 pm – Try a puppet and visit with the performers behind the scenes.\n5:00 – 6:15 pm – Introduction\, Ramayana performance\, and Q&A with artists.\n\nThis event is provided at no charge\, thanks to a grant from the Stuart Foundation.\n\nKnow the Artists\nRahul Koonathara – is the younger son of legendary shadow puppet master Padmashri Ramachandra Pulavar and Rajalakshmi\, born to a traditional lineage of puppet practitioners preserving the temple traditional art form tholpavakoothu for the past 12 generations.\nPresently\, he is a graduate student at the University of Connecticut in the Department of Comparative Literature and Cultural Studies under the guidance of Professor Matthew Isaac Cohen.\n\nRahul has completed his bachelors degree in Physics and Masters degree in Folklore studies and specialized acting degree from National School of Drama\, Bangalore.\n\nRahul has led major roles in traditional and contemporary shadow puppetry productions in the theatre company Tholpavakoothu & Puppet Centre in national and International festivals across the globe.\n\nAnthony Sellito Budney – is an educational and puppet expert at Ballard Institute Museum of Puppetry. He has graduated from the University of Connecticut puppet arts program.\n\nGokul Krishnan – is a graduate student at Electrical Engineering department at the University of Connecticut. He is pursuing research in Shadow puppetry and Machine learning.

DESCRIPTION:Join 52:db (Jason A. Karol and Trevor McCabe… sometimes with various musical and flow arts guest collaborators)! This will be an evening of composed and improvised music in a variety of styles. Sit and listen\, lie down and meditate\, get up and dance… there will be space to accommodate all of those options! This event is part concert\, part sound journey\, part flow arts dance space! We want to take you on a musical\, spiritual\, and emotional journey! \nSince this will fall on the week that includes Halloween\, costumes are encouraged! The performers will be rockin’ some cool threads for sure! ? \n-Doors open at 6:30\n-Music from 7:30-9:30 (with 10 minute intermission at 8:30)\n-Socialize and snack after from 9:30-10:00 \nIf you would like to support the team bringing this event to life\, the Common Street Spiritual Center\, and future 52:db events\, you can give a donation of your choosing (suggested donation $25-35) at the venue the day of show.
