This will be an evening of composed and improvised music in a variety of styles. Sit and listen\, lie down and meditate\, get up and dance… there will be space to accommodate all of those options! This event is part concert\, part sound journey\, part flow arts dance space! We want to take you on a musical\, spiritual\, and emotional journey! \nSince this will fall on the week that includes Halloween\, costumes are encouraged! We want to play music with YOU! \nIf you have a basic musical ability (play an instrument\, know your chords)\, We welcome you to bring your instrument; guitar\, bass\, drums\, keyboard\, ukelele\, voice\, and more – for a night of playing songs together. We’ll finish out the night with a jam. \nPoint of the event is to have fun and make music together. There is little expectation beyond that. \nFormat of the event:  we’ll play relatively easy songs which are 3-5 chords. We’ll have a list to choose from for this event\, and we’ll cast them on a screen / or have on poster-boards\, so everyone can see the chords and lyrics. We’ll draw numbers from a hat @ 7pm and that will be the order of those wanting to lead a song. If you just want to play\, then just play! \nGenres include but not limited to Rock\, Pop\, Folk\, Blues. Typically\, we’ll be mostly in 4/4 time to keep things simple. I’ll start off the 1st song to get us warmed up\, then we’ll take turns leading a song (optional if you desire to). \nNote: we’ll play mostly “clean” in terms of sound\, but some basic pedals / effects are permitted such as Wah\, Compressor\, Reverb\, Delay\, etc. Ear plugs will be available. \nAlso Note:  respectfulness of everyone’s ability level is expected\, kindness is appreciated. DESCRIPTION:The Electric Nomads return to the Common Street Spiritual Center for another ecstatic dance gathering. \nCome join us for an evening of freeform movement and dance to the live grooves of the Electric Nomads as they take you on an musical journey that begins slowly and gradually builds up and up until everyone is soaring\, and then gently returning you to Mother Earth to rest on the waves of a lush sound bath meditation. \nThe Electric Nomads are musical alchemists\, fusing acoustic and electronic elements to form a funky melange of world instruments and chanted vocalizations woven around a core of monster bass grooves and percussive beats. But E.N. also knows the way of sublime sounds that are flowing\, soothing and delicate. \nPlease arrive no later than 7pm so you can settle in before the opening ceremony. We prefer that people not arrive late\, in order to avoid disrupting the flow once the wheels get turning. \nThe members of the Electric Nomads include Dave Santospago\, Dave Curry\, Jason Karol and Bruno Giles. \nBring along a water bottle\, any kind of flow props that are appropriate for a group dance environment and a blanket or yoga mat to lie down for the final meditation at the end of the night. \nSuggested donation of $20+ per person (cash\, Paypal or Venmo).

SUMMARY:Traditional Rattle Making Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:Rattles are the sound of the North in the medicine wheel. Their sound assimilate the rain therefore a good cleanser of dense energies stuck in body\, mind or spaces. They are also used for traveling into other realms\, journeying to the North where our ancestors\, teachers and guides live. \nIn this workshop you will craft a traditional corn filled Elk-rattle for ceremonial and healing use. \nOnce sacred space has been opened and everyone has voiced their presence in the circle we will receive the materials for bringing these tools through. The first step is to make the holes and sew them together. We will be filling them with sand to take the desired shape and let them dry while having lunch and embarking on a journey with Nelya Binder. She will will be offering a Conscious Yoga class to connect with Mother Earth and the elements inspired by rattle making.
