He is known and loved for his transformational live concerts performed on his personally curated set of gongs\, bells and other metal instruments.  \nA lifelong multi-instrumentalist\, Tamburo has focused his talents on metal percussion instruments\, string instruments (hammered dulcimer\, guitar\, zither\, shahi baaja)\, as well as electronic instruments (synths\, looping).  \nSince 1994\, Tamburo has shared more than 2\,000 concerts and workshops. He has recorded over 70 albums\, both solo and in collaboration with Crown of Eternity\, Meisha\, Arco Flute Foundation\, Psychic Frost\, Brother Ong and more\, ranging from epic gong music to ecstatic and transcendental string music\, as well as folk\, drone\, space rock\, ambient\, mantra music and sometimes unclassifiable sounds. This man loves music in all its forms!  \nHe teaches gong music\, both in person and online with School of Gong. He is also a part of the far-reaching ethnomusicology trio\, Dig Deeper\, with Mitch Nur and Thomas Orr Anderson. Their online classes have explored countless musical concepts with a focus on the cultural and personal uses of sound for healing\, meditation\, trance\, ecstatic states\, relaxation\, self transformation\, perception\, psycho-acoustics\, scientific discovery\, time and community.  \nAn early adoptee of meditation\, Tamburo’s music offers space for journeying\, self-exploration and deep introspection. This will be a special evening of Yoga\, Dub & Reggae\, and community featuring Yoga from Dr. Jen Kurz in tandem with live DJing from Selector Jah Rich! \n❤️ All levels of Yoga are welcome to this vinyasa flow\, there is plenty of parking\, and the cost is $10 or food pantry donations. All are welcome! \n?️ The beautiful Common Street Spiritual Center is the place to be\, and this venue continues to host and promote top tier spiritual entrepreneurship and community events in the MetroWest. \n? This is the second summer of DUB YOGA and last year’s sessions were well attended and received! \n? WHAT IS DUB\, might you ask?\nDub is one of the many sub genres of Reggae music. Dub is instrumental Reggae that is artistically enhanced and layered with effects like echo and reverb as well as production techniques like splicing in snipits of vocals or sporadically dropping out all the instruments except for the powerful\, stripped down drum and bass. Dub gives the recording engineer the opportunity to become the musician as their multi-track mixing console acts as the instrument. An engineer making Dub is like a chef creating a unique meal not often seen on most menus! Jamaican producer and engineer King Tubby is credited as the inventor of Dub\, as he first experimented with ways to manipulate and “dub out” his instrumental tracks in the early 1970s. Today\, his innovation and influence is widely heard in genres like techno\, drum and bass\, and dubstep. Dub stands as another example of the rich contributions of Jamaican music.
