SUMMARY:African American Saturday School
DESCRIPTION:African American Saturday SchoolThird Saturdays | 12:00–3:00 PMMeeting Room\, Common Street Spiritual CenterFacilitated by Deborah Mitchell \nAfrican American Saturday School is a monthly gathering devoted to learning\, reflection\, and community rooted in the rich history and cultural legacy of African Americans. Led by educator and community leader Deborah Mitchell\, this program offers a space to study African American history through autobiographies\, guided lesson plans\, book discussions\, and presentations from guest speakers. \nParticipants will explore the stories\, struggles\, creativity\, and contributions that have shaped African American life in the United States and beyond. Sessions may include storytelling\, music\, and artistic expression that illuminate the historical journey and cultural traditions of African Americans. \nThe program will also provide space to examine current policy issues affecting African American communities today. Through dialogue and shared learning\, the gathering aims to serve as a thoughtful forum—a place where people of all races\, creeds\, and denominations can engage deeply with history while reflecting on the challenges and possibilities of the present. \nAfrican American Saturday School is also intended to inspire the next generation of leaders by connecting historical knowledge with a sense of responsibility for the future. \nThe program is open and free to the public. A goodwill offering is welcome but not required. Books and African-American-inspired artwork by local\, regional\, and international artists will also be available for purchase. \nAll are welcome to join this ongoing space for learning\, culture\, and community. \nhttps://us04web.zoom.us/j/79271727876?pwd=jH2IwocPAkBHIjwTvWspESRFg98lPn.1 \nMeeting ID: 792 7172 7876\nPasscode: V11P67

SUMMARY:Rite of the Womb
DESCRIPTION:Join us for The Rite of the Womb\, a monthly women’s circle\, typically held every third Saturday at Common Street Spiritual Center in Natick. \n\nThis sacred gathering offers a space to connect\, heal\, and celebrate your feminine essence through empowering workshops and sacred sisterhood. The evening culminates in the Rite of the Womb\, a shamanic ceremony for releasing fear and ancestral pain to reclaim your inner power. Throughout the evening\, you’ll be embraced by a supportive women’s community\, fostering connections that uplift and inspire.  \nThis month we gather to celebrate the Summer Solstice- the longest day of the year and a time of radiant abundance. In the Medicine Wheel\, summer is held in the South direction\, connected to the element of Fire and the stage of Youth: a season of joy\, playfulness\, creativity\, and vitality. Together we will honor the sun’s energy with a fire ceremony focused on manifestation and creative expression. We will also explore what it means to embody our youth by reconnecting with innocence\, wonder\, and delight. Please bring an activity\, game\, craft\, or pastime that sparks joy for you\, particularly if it is something that evokes happy summer memories from childhood. If possible\, bring any supplies needed so we can share in the magic of play together. \nIf you feel called\, a few items you may want to bring: \n\nA snack to share with the group\nA personal water bottle\nAny items you would like honored on the collective altar\nDivination tools you work with (examples: crystals\, cards\, smokes\, etc)\nMusical instruments such as drums or rattles\nAnything else that you feel will support the space!\n\nContact Sherry at owls.rising@gmail.com or via text or WhatsApp at 617-980-6022 with any questions or concerns. \nAlthough preregistration is not required\, it is helpful for event preparations. Suggested donation to support the center\, workshop supplies and the group is $22 to $44\, although no one will be turned away for financial hardship.   \nPreregister using the following form link: https://forms.gle/SiZUYrMemju433yK8
