DESCRIPTION:What:  Natick Music Makers  \nWhen:  First Fridays\, 7-9pm \nWhere:  Common Street Spiritual Center\, Upstairs \nHow much: Cost; 100% of your $10 entry fee goes to the center to support its mission* \nWho:  You & Us!! ? \nHello! We want to play music with YOU! \nIf you have a basic musical ability (play an instrument\, know your chords)\, We welcome you to bring your instrument; guitar\, bass\, drums\, keyboard\, ukelele\, voice\, and more – for a night of playing songs together. We’ll finish out the night with a jam. \nPoint of the event is to have fun and make music together. There is little expectation beyond that. \nFormat of the event:  we’ll play relatively easy songs which are 3-5 chords. We’ll have a list to choose from for this event\, and we’ll cast them on a screen / or have on poster-boards\, so everyone can see the chords and lyrics. We’ll draw numbers from a hat @ 7pm and that will be the order of those wanting to lead a song. If you just want to play\, then just play! \nGenres include but not limited to Rock\, Pop\, Folk\, Blues. Typically\, we’ll be mostly in 4/4 time to keep things simple. I’ll start off the 1st song to get us warmed up\, then we’ll take turns leading a song (optional if you desire to). \nNote: we’ll play mostly “clean” in terms of sound\, but some basic pedals / effects are permitted such as Wah\, Compressor\, Reverb\, Delay\, etc. Ear plugs will be available. \nAlso Note:  respectfulness of everyone’s ability level is expected\, kindness is appreciated. DESCRIPTION:Join the WDA (WRITER/DIRECTOR/ACTOR) Film Group for their next meeting on September 10! \nWhen you come to this group you will have ample opportunity to practice your respective roles in the art of filmmaking. Members will be split into groups that include writers\, directors\, and actors. Each group will be handed a script from a writer to read\, discuss\, act and eventually film. \nEvery group will have a space to rehearse privately before they eventually perform and are filmed with multiple cameras in front of a live audience. This performance will then be played back for directors to critique. Actors will have the opportunity to keep the footage to use as a demo reel. All this happens in one evening with multiple groups. DESCRIPTION:The innaugural ‘Divine Design – Ecstatic Dance & Sound Bath’ will be held on Friday\, September 22nd at the Common Street Spiritual Center in Natick\, MA! Here are the details…\n-Doors open at 6:00 for stretching\, snacking\, and socializing while gentle music sets the mood.\n-There will be an open intention-setting meditation at 7:00\, with a theme coinciding with the autumn equinox. We will then transition into dancing to delicious exotic jams\, with both DJ set/performance and live (often improv) accompaniment on a variety of instruments. This will be the ecstatic dance portion of the event and will run until approx. 8:30.\n-Then\, Lara Woolfson will help us all cool down and ground with a sound bath featuring singing bowls\, shamanic drumming\, and more to close out the event.\nThere is a suggested donation of $25-35 for this event\, but if funds are a barrier to entry for you\, don’t let that stop you from enjoying this releasing\, healing\, and uplifting community event… just donate whatever you can. Every contribution will help us to keep putting on these events\, as we would like for this to become a recurring shindig!\nBring anything you might want… hoops/poi/etc. for flow arts\, a yoga mat/blanket/pillow for the sound bath\, water for hydration.
