DESCRIPTION:Yoga is a practice that brings together the mind and body.  In fact\, yoga means “to yoke” or unite.   It is an ancient healing practice that is both physical and spiritual\, incorporating postures\, breath\, and meditation.  Yoga heals!   Yoga provides relief from numerous forms of trauma\, anxiety\, and physical stiffness.  It also builds a strong physical and spiritual core.\n\n\nJoin us every Monday from 7-8 pm for a vinyasa flow that will strengthen and energize as well as promote flexibility and balance.  We will also experience inner peace by the closing meditation called Shivasana.  Please bring a mat and water bottle\, and the class meets in the beautiful sanctuary.  There is no registration required\, and the cost per class is $10 or a food pantry donation (the pantry is located outside the center).  Class will not meet on federal holidays.  Venmo: Jennifer-Kurz-2. DESCRIPTION:Yoga is a practice that brings together the mind and body.  In fact\, yoga means “to yoke” or unite.   It is an ancient healing practice that is both physical and spiritual\, incorporating postures\, breath\, and meditation.  Yoga heals!   Yoga provides relief from numerous forms of trauma\, anxiety\, and physical stiffness.  It also builds a strong physical and spiritual core.\n\n\nJoin us every Monday from 7-8 pm for a vinyasa flow that will strengthen and energize as well as promote flexibility and balance.  We will also experience inner peace by the closing meditation called Shivasana.  Please bring a mat and water bottle\, and the class meets in the beautiful sanctuary.  There is no registration required\, and the cost per class is $10 or a food pantry donation (the pantry is located outside the center).  Class will not meet on federal holidays.  Venmo: Jennifer-Kurz-2. SUMMARY:Sacred Gospel Reading
DESCRIPTION:Experience Jesus’ message of love holistically in an inclusive spiritual setting\, without any dogma or sectarianism blocking the way.\n\nFri\, August 1st\, Doors at 630pm to give people time to have tea and settle in. The reading begins at 7pm with a brief opening ceremony of prayer\, intentions\, and song.\n\nThe heart of this event is a spirited reading of the entire Gospel of Luke facilitated by Rev. Dr. Ian Mevorach\, director of the Common Street Spiritual Center; he has been a student of Jesus and other great prophets and spiritual teachers for over 20 years.\n\nThe.reading of the Gospel will be offered without explanation or interpretation\, in trust that it speaks for itself.\n\nAfter the reading\, we’ll have a time for integration\, sharing\, and a closing prayer.\n\nThe goal of this Sacred Gospel Reading is  is not to convert participants to any form or sect of Christianity\, but rather to create an inclusive and dynamic space where people of diverse belief systems and philosophical perspectives can share in an authentic experience of the teachings and story of Jesus\, which sends a message of love that transcends religious categories and forms.\n\nPeople of all beliefs\, spiritual paths\, and religious identities\, and those who do not identify as religious and/or spiritual\, are all equally welcome to participate\, and people of all ages are also welcome. There is no charge to attend\, though donations to the Spiritual Center are always welcome at www.commonstreet.org/give.\n\nWhat to bring:Water bottle\, yoga mat and/or meditation cushion to sit on (or you can borrow one\, or use a chair)\, a journal (optional)\, Bible (optional if you want to read along)\, blanket (optional)\, mug for coffee/tea (or we’ll have paper cups).\nFor questions\, or to volunteer\, please contact Ian at ian@commonstreet.org

DESCRIPTION:On the first Sundays of the month\, we combine our Open Circle Gathering with a community potluck brunch.\n\nWe gather and connect in a more relaxed\, less structured way\, yet with threads of meaning and spirituality tying it all together.\n\n\nYou’re welcome\, if it would bring you joy\, to contribute a food or drink item to share as part of the community brunch.
