SUMMARY:Buddhist Meditation Group (Tibetan Vajrayana)
DESCRIPTION:Buddhist practice is not about retreating from our lives or rejecting the things that bring us meaning and joy. Rather\, it is about cultivating our natural capacity for unconditional well-being; a well-being that is not dependent on external circumstances. \nThis unconditional well-being is not withdrawn\, neutral\, or indifferent. It is brimming with warmth and care for all beings. It is the source of universal love and compassion\, what Buddhists call bodhicitta. It is not something we attain or manufacture; it is what we fundamentally are. The practices of this tradition help us identify and remove our internal impediments so that our innate enlightened nature can begin to outshine our habitual ways of thinking and relating to ourselves and others. \nThese weekly gatherings include meditation practice and discussion grounded in the teachings of contemporary meditation masters within the Tibetan Vajrayana tradition. Our emphasis is on integrating meditation into daily life and embodying loving-kindness and compassion in action. Each session includes guided and silent meditation\, along with time for reflection and conversation. \nFacilitated by Ben Draper\, a longtime dharma practitioner and student of Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche. \nOpen to both beginners and experienced practitioners.
