SUMMARY:Book Club: The Power of Now
DESCRIPTION:This group would be a good fit for people who follow or are interested in meditation and/or the spiritual teachings of Eckhart Tolle. We will read the book The Power of Now in our own time and come together as a group to share what stood out to us the most and reflect on how what we are learning applies to our own lives. Along with discussion\, we will engage in meditation practice and journaling. A copy of The Power of Now would be needed to fully participate\, but people are welcome to sit in on the discussion and participate in activities even if they don’t have the book. A journal/sketchbook would also be a supportive tool. We will meet every other week to allow time and space for reading\, reflection\, and processing on our own between meetings.

SUMMARY:Chanting and Meditation Group
DESCRIPTION:This chanting and meditation group is designed to tap into our inner freedom. We will have two 15 minute sessions of chanting and two 30 minute sessions of meditation. Through the actions of chanting and meditation\, the aim is to free all the thoughts and emotions stuck within our minds and bodies. And over time\, the goal is to free ourselves from our unconscious programming we have built over our lifetimes and deepen our connection with Spirit.\n\n\nThe event is free and open to the community. DESCRIPTION:The class will incorporate Hatha Yoga asanas\, gentle joint warm up based in flowing circular movements and elements of breathing and concentration. For about an hour we will focus on spinal alignment and tension release through yoga asana practice followed by a short practice of breathing exercises and/or meditation techniques. \nThe class will meet on Tuesday evenings with some exceptions.
